FREDERICK, MD, October 30, 2026. John Shollenberger joined DeLeon & Stang in October 2026 as a Staff Auditor, bringing several years of accounting experience to the firm. He works primarily with nonprofit organizations, making sure their financial statements are accurate and meet financial reporting and compliance requirements. His work supports transparency and accountability, so the organizations he serves can stay focused on their missions.
John’s interest in accounting started young, inspired by his dad, who was a CPA. He followed in his father’s footsteps and enjoys how much room the field gives him to keep learning and growing. He describes himself as trustworthy, patient and dedicated, and someone who’s always learning.
John earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland in 2023, after completing his associate degree in accounting at Howard Community College in 2020.
Originally from Damascus, Maryland, John now lives in Clarksburg. Outside of work, he spends time with family and friends, gets out on the golf course and cooks.
