Kevin M. Madden, CPA, CAMS, CGMA
Audit Manager
Kevin is a valued member of the DeLeon & Stang team and currently serves as an audit manager, specializing in credit unions and non-profits. He also performs a variety of credit union regulatory compliance examinations including ACH, BSA/OFAC, SAFE Act, and Fair Lending. His extensive financial institution experience also includes CECL consulting, enterprise-wide risk assessments, IT General Controls reviews, member verifications, Supervisory Committee Agreed-Upon Procedures, Asset Liability Management (ALM), the COSO framework, and quarterly internal audits. Kevin is skilled in assessing risk, helping clients understand their financial picture, and providing credit union governance with deep insight into how the economy and market may affect their institution.
Kevin has been working with financial institutions for over 20 years. His career includes compliance and finance experience at Pentagon Federal Credit Union and Street Bank & Trust in Boston. He maintains an extensive network of credit union and public accounting professionals and is a member of the AICPA nationwide credit union practitioners panel which includes representatives from various national firms and NCUA. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, and Chartered Global Management Accountant.
Regardless of client size or audit fee, Kevin treats each client as if they are his only one. He is consistently professional and always looking for ways to help his clients improve their operational efficiency and strengthen their control environment. Kevin strives to add value to each of his engagements. At the conclusion of each audit, he provides an insightful presentation to executive management and governance. At an early age, he learned that hard work in life does not guarantee success; but that without hard work, you will never truly succeed. He developed a fondness for math throughout his childhood, which helped him realize that he wanted to work with numbers in his career.
Kevin spent his young childhood in Long Island before moving to Orlando, Florida, where he attended middle school and high school. After graduating from the University of Miami, he lived in Australia for a brief time before settling down in the DC area for 16 years. He met his wife Kristin in Alexandria Virginia and relocated to Cohasset, Massachusetts, just outside of Boston, in 2015. They have three children, Aiden, Emma, and Margot. In his free time, Kevin enjoys studying Revolutionary War history, learning Russian, and following most sports. He is an avid college football fan. He likes to stay active by hiking, biking, and playing tennis. He's also an avid reader. Among his favorite books is War and Peace, due to how it takes the reader through the whole gamut of human emotions.
