FREDERICK, MD, Jan 15, 2024—DeLeon & Stang welcomed 10 new tax interns from local universities to the firm in January. Onboarding this class of interns comes on the heels of DeLeon & Stang’s recent open house event, where the firm partnered with several local colleges and universities to give students the opportunity to learn more about careers in the accounting field.
From day one, the interns are immersed in the firm’s culture. Each intern goes through the same goal-setting process and mentorship programs as all other full-time employees. From there, interns attend weekly department meetings to gain valuable insights into daily operations and gain hands-on experience through assigned responsibilities, such as reviewing client documents, data input, and client interaction.
“We are excited to welcome our new tax interns to DeLeon & Stang,” said Brad Hoffman, Managing Partner at DeLeon & Stang. “Our internship program will help them gain practical experience to develop the skills they need to be successful tax professionals.”
The firm has a longstanding history of offering the best-performing interns full-time positions once they complete their internship. Over the last 5 years, 75% of the interns have become permanent full-time employees. This is part of DeLeon & Stang’s professional development program, which focuses on building up the next generation of leadership from within the firm.
“DeLeon & Stang recognizes the value of the firm’s interns, not just as potential future employees, but also as leaders who will shape the future of the industry,” said Brad. “Investing in young talent ensures a bright future for our firm and helps our entire team grow.”
