DeLeon & Stang Raises Over $1,000 for Breast Cancer

Almost 300K women receive a breast cancer diagnosis in the U.S. annually. Breast cancer is a deadly, unforgiving disease that takes the lives of thousands of women annually. This year, one of the team members’ aunts, Daphne Riddle, was one of those women.
The American Cancer Society recognizes the challenges women with breast cancer face. The organization regularly develops fundraisers for breast cancer research. One of the American Cancer Society's popular fundraisers includes the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, which DeLeon & Stang was pleased to support.
DeLeon & Stang: Making Strides Against Breast Cancer
On October 16, 2022, eleven colleagues from DeLeon & Stang teamed up for the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer fundraiser. All team members walked 3.13 miles through Mt. Airy Park in Mt. Airy, Maryland.
The DeLeon & Stang team raised $1,264 in support of the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer research. The American Cancer Society uses fundraising money for research efforts concerning breast cancer. Our team's donation was in memory of Daphne Riddle, who lost her life to breast cancer. Ms. Riddle was the aunt of one of our participants and employees, Saidu Hashim-Cole.
“Breast cancer research is an important cause for the company, with many team members, like Saidu, being directly impacted by the disease. We are honored to have the firm walk and raise money in memory of Saidu’s Aunt Daphne,” says Brad Hoffman, Co-Managing Partner.
Other DeLeon & Stang participants in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk included Michele Mills, Liz Crabbs, Mychele Lehman, Rich Stang, Jeanmarie Price, Mackenzie Farran, Clint Lehman, Sherrie Tucker, Jaime Senior, and Martina Adkins.
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer hosts thousands of walks annually around the country. Individuals can sign up on their own or with teams and seek donations for their efforts from family members and friends. The American Cancer Society uses donations for a wide variety of services, including research towards preventing and treating the disease, supporting people living with breast cancer with a 24/7 cancer helpline, and educating people on how to reduce their risk of developing cancer.
