From Intern to Staff Accountant
Originally from Collins, NY, and now living in Walkersville, Maryland, Kelcie joined DeLeon & Stang in January 2024 as a Tax Intern. Just a few months later, she was promoted to Staff Accountant – a reflection of both her ambition and the firm’s commitment to developing talent from within.

In her day-to-day, Kelcie manages client communication, bookkeeping, and tax return preparation for both businesses and individuals. She also assists senior accountants on complex engagements and participates in discovery calls with prospective clients, helping the team assess fit and build lasting relationships.
Building Accounting Skills Through Real-World Experience
Since day one, Kelcie has taken the initiative to grow beyond her core responsibilities. With both financial and professional support from the firm, she recently completed her second bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland. This combination of continued education and real-world experience has helped her become a trusted client contact and expand her technical skills.
“Each new experience gives me a chance to learn, build confidence, and see the impact of my work,” Kelcie shared. “The mentorship and guidance from senior staff have been invaluable, and I’m grateful for the many opportunities to continue growing here at D&S.”
