Michael L. Stottlemyer, CUCE, NCCO, CUERME
Director of Compliance Services

Michael joined DeLeon & Stang in 2018 and currently serves as the firm’s Director of Compliance Services. In this role, he uses his in-depth understanding of the regulatory industry and its current “hot spots” to help financial institutions ensure they are compliant. Prior to joining DeLeon & Stang, he amassed extensive compliance experience, spending four years working with banks and 14 years with credit unions.

Among his colleagues, Michael is known for his knowledge of audit and regulatory compliance, for being an engaging speaker and trainer, and for possessing the ability to successfully assemble and lead a great team. A love of detail and accuracy inspired Michael to pursue a career in audit and compliance. He attributes his success to a combination of his own knowledge and his ability to work well with others. The biggest influences in his life include his family, faith, and the professional relationships he has developed over the years.

Raised in rural Maryland, Michael currently resides in Martinsburg, West Virginia. He has been married for nearly three decades and has twin daughters and one son. Outside of the office, Michael can be found spending time outdoors with family, working with youth and young adults as well as mentoring—particularly within the credit union industry.
