Greg joins the DeLeon & Stang team as a result of the 2013 merger with Glen Todd & Company, P.C. The majority of his work consists of estate tax planning, estate and gift tax preparation and fiduciary income tax preparation. He is also involved in individual, business and partnership tax planning and preparation, as well as research.
Greg has been in the accounting business for 19 years and admits that he did not go about it in the traditional way. After obtaining his undergraduate degree in finance and then a Master of Business Administration, he went to work in the banking industry. While working for various banks, he became an expert on estates and trusts taxation and administration. After joining a public accounting firm, he then went back to school to pick up the remaining credits to be able to sit for the CPA Examination. He passed the exam on his first attempt, obtaining his CPA designation in 1999. Although his expertise is in estate and trust planning, Greg has many years of experience in other aspects of accounting, including tax preparation and planning for clients in the consulting, legal, professional services and government contracting industries.
Greg is most proud of the work he has done to help families properly set up their estate and trust plans, ultimately providing them with substantial tax savings. Others would describe Greg as knowledgeable, dependable and friendly. His business philosophy is built off of always giving your best effort to serve the client, working hard and being honest.
Greg grew up in a small town in West Virginia called Tornado, which he jokingly says should not be confused with the somewhat larger town of Hurricane, West Virginia. He now lives quietly in Middletown, Maryland. He loves the small town feel and has lived on Main Street for over 20 years. He has three grown children and recently adopted a black cat named Yoruichi. In his free time he enjoys running, watching sports, listening to music, and reading.
