FREDERICK, MD, November 30, 2022—After a 31-year career at the firm, DeLeon & Stang Partner and Director of Administration Jeanie Price will retire at the end of 2022. She has held several titles over the years, and her work has been monumental in helping the firm grow into what it is today.

“DeLeon & Stang has been such a big part of my life from the day I started,” said Jeanie. “It was my ultimate job when I started, a small firm where I could do many things close to home. From there, it just grew and grew.”

Jeanie began working in the accounting field in 1983 and joined the DeLeon & Stang team as an Administrative Assistant in 1991. Since then, she has held the formal roles of Firm Administrator, Director of Administration, and Partner. She notes that her unofficial titles made her time at DeLeon & Stang all the more rewarding.

“I’ve been everything from a coach, cheerleader, strategist, firefighter, chief cook, and mom,” said Jeanie. “The culture always felt like a family. It allowed me to learn, grow, and get involved in things outside work that were important to me.”

Her commitment to growth has continuously stretched beyond the firm’s walls into the community. She has served on the board for both the local and national chapters of CPAFMA over the years. In 2020 she served as a Chair for CPAFMA. Jeanie’s work with CPAFMA was lauded in 2016 when she received the ACE award, which honors a manager that makes a strategic impact on their firm’s profit and growth. While her time at the firm has been studded with awards, Jeanie deems becoming a Partner at DeLeon & Stang her greatest career achievement.

“At that time, very few non-CPA firm administrators were offered partnership,” said Jeanie. “It was such a surprise and honor to be recognized by Al and Rich for my achievements and growth within the firm.”

As she looks toward the future, Jeanie has a long list of things she is excited to do in her retirement. She plans to do more of her favorite hobbies, including traveling, hiking, reading, volunteering, and spending time with her grandboys.
