DeLeon & Stang Announces Promotions

DeLeon & Stang Certified Public Accountants and Advisors is pleased to announce the promotions of Diana Contreras, APHR, Steven Kurinsky, CPA, CGMA, Sweta Shah, CPA, and John Sheehan, CPA.Contreras has been promoted to human resources manager; Kurinsky will move into the role of manager; Shah and Sheehan will both be taking on the position of supervisor, moving up from their previous roles as senior accountants.“Diana, Steven, Sweta, and John are all valuable members of our firm, and we feel that now is the right time for them to take the next step in their careers,” said Richard Stang, CPA, ABV, PFS, Partner. “I am confident they will utilize this opportunity to grow as professionals while maintaining their dedication to our clients and firm.”Kurinsky joined the firm in 2009. He holds Bachelor of Science degrees in both Accounting and Finance from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA). Kurinsky currently resides in Reston, Virginia with his wife, Emily.A member of the DeLeon & Stang team since 2014, Contreras is responsible for recruiting new employees and working with current staff members on their professional development. She is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in human resource management at Stayer University. Contreras resides in her hometown of Gaithersburg, Maryland, with her daughter.Since 2003 Shah has been serving clients in DeLeon & Stang’s tax department. She has expertise working with individuals, businesses, credit unions and not-for-profit organizations. She holds a Bachelor degree in Commerce Accounting from Lala Lajpatrai and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Management from the University of Maryland’s University College.Sheehan joined DeLeon & Stang in 2015 and currently work in the tax department. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Shepherd University. A resident of Round Hill, Virginia, Sheehan enjoys spending his free time playing football.
