DeLeon & Stang Helps Over 100 Local Businesses and Nonprofits through the COVID-19 Economic Crisis
MARYLAND, June 2020—As of June 10, local advisory and accounting firm, DeLeon & Stang, has helped 117 businesses, nonprofits, and sole proprietors make it through the COVID-19 economic downturn and into the first steps of recovery.
In those early days, when quarantine was only a suggestion, DeLeon & Stang started consulting and helping their clients develop contingency plans and projections, hoping that they wouldn't be needed.
"In March, we were watching what was happening, getting prepared, and calling our clients. Over and over, we heard a similar concern, what can we do for our employees?" Brad Hoffman, CPA, Co-Managing Partner, DeLeon & Stang says.
In the months that followed, the DC Metro and Baltimore Metro areas saw shelter-in-place orders become quarantine orders. DeLeon & Stang, who already partially worked remotely, seamlessly pivoted to fully working remotely to continue to help existing and new clients and their employees through the pandemic with education, webinars, phone calls, and virtual meetings.
"I have been a client of DeLeon & Stang for many years. They truly helped me during this pandemic—answering countless phone calls and emails throughout the day and night." says, Dr. Perlstrom, Sleep Disorders Centers of the Mid-Atlantic
Before the CARES Act was signed and the Paycheck Protection Program went live, DeLeon & Stang was working with local organizations to help them understand which aspects of the CARES Act would be best for them and prepare them to act.
Joanne & Steve, Owners of Sunset Hills Foliage, Inc., explained, "As small business owners, we have been clients of DeLeon & Stang for several years. Thank goodness for that! They have been our lifeline during this pandemic, dealing with the Cares Act, PPP loan, and all aspects of this difficult time for our business."
Now, as the area enters the summer months and starts going through the phases of reopening, DeLeon & Stang is helping local small businesses and nonprofits understand the impact of the Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act and what each organization's "new normal" is.
