DeLeon & Stang Principal Named Vice Chair of Local College Foundation
DeLeon & Stang Certified Public Accountants and Advisors is pleased to announce that Michele Mills, CPA, principal has been named Vice Chair of the Frederick Community College Foundation (FCC Foundation).
A member of the firm since 2017, Mills serves clients in Frederick and surrounding areas in Maryland, drawing on over three decades of public accounting experience. She specializes in working with non-profit organizations, governmental units, and employee benefit plans. More specifically, she has years of experience working with federal award programs and performing audits in accordance with Government Auditing Standards, as well as Single Audits.
“I consider it a great honor to be asked to take on the role of Vice Chair of the FCC Foundation,” said Mills. “Access to higher education is such an important element to promoting the success of the local community. It’s been an honor to serve this organization as a member of the board of directors and I’m thrilled to carry on in this new role.”
Established in 1981, the FCC Foundation is a non-profit organization that works to support Frederick Community College and its students. It promotes access to higher education by partnering with individuals, organizations, and businesses to remove barriers to community college education and provide scholarship aid for eligible students. Mills is a cum laude graduate of Frostburg State College. She is currently affiliated with the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA). In addition to serving on the board of the FCC Foundation, she is both a founding board member and the treasurer of Woman to Woman Mentoring, Inc. Mills currently resides in her hometown of Frederick, Maryland.
