DeLeon & Stang Partner Named Chair of Asbury Foundation Board
DeLeon & Stang Certified Public Accountants and Advisors is pleased to announce that Richard Stang, CPA, ABV, PFS, has accepted the new role of Chair of the Asbury Foundation Board of Directors.
“It’s an honor to be chosen to serve in this new role on the Asbury Foundation board,” said Stang. “I am constantly seeking ways to put my particular skill set to use in service of the local community, and this position offers the opportunity to do so.”
The Asbury Foundation supports benevolent care needs in the Asbury system of communities via both annual funds and endowment funds. The foundation’s three-part vision is as follows: “Inspiring Compassion. Sharing Blessings. Funding the Mission.” The primary goal of the organization’s board of directors is to pursue the mission of “securing charitable support to enhance the lives of persons served by Asbury.”
Stang is a founding partner of DeLeon & Stang. His specialties include corporate and individual tax issues and planning, estate, investment management, and insurance advisory services for business and individuals. Stang has over 30 years of experience in public accounting. He holds a Bachelor of Business Studies in Accounting from Frostburg State University. He is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA), the Maryland Task Force for Common Ownership Communities, and the Washington Metropolitan Chapter of Community Associations Institute (WMCCAI). In addition to serving on the board of the Asbury Foundation, Stang volunteers as the treasurer of Community Ties, Inc., a board member of the Corporate Volunteer Council of Montgomery County (CVC), and a member of the Montgomery County Community Council.
